Our Teams

Gotham currently fields three competitive lines; Masters, Adult, and Open Adult. Each team is unique and varies in levels of difficulty, required on and off ice practices, and number of competition performances.

  • Masters is a team of 12-20 skaters all over the age of 25. Our Masters focus throughout the season on developing their skating skills in an effort to put forth a fun and challenging competitive program.

The Masters season consists of weekly on-ice practice, monthly off-ice sessions, two weekend-long skating and choreography intensives, and recommended strength and conditioning exercises to maintain fitness.

  • Adult is a team of 12-20 skaters all over the age of 21 who have met certain testing requirements. Our Adult skaters spend the season rigorously improving their individual skating skills in an effort to put forth an exciting and technically challenging competition program.

The Adult season consists of weekly on-ice practice, monthly off-ice sessions, two weekend-long skating and choreography intensives, and recommended strength and conditioning exercises to maintain fitness.

  • Open adult is a team of 8-16 skaters all over the age of 18. Our Open Adult skaters focus on basic skating skills in an effort to put forth a clean and exciting skate at competition.

The Open Adult season consists of bi-weekly on-ice practice, occasional off-ice sessions, one weekend-long skating and choreography intensive, and recommended strength and conditioning exercises to improve individual skating skills and fitness.

Where we like to hang out

For over a decade our home base has been the City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City, Queens. It’s easy to get to via many subway and bus routes and, lucky us, Westside Skate is located on-site so our skates are always sharp.
