FAMILY/SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Husband Tony, a faithful supporter of her and her sport – even when they have to rise and shine at 3:45AM !
WHEN/HOW YOU STARTED SKATING: In 2001 – my husband and I skated at the outdoor rink in Bear Mountain , NY – the passion , if not obsession began then.
WHEN/HOW YOU STARTED SKATING SYNCHRO:
I was inspired by watching the team Men n’ Sync practice. Obviously, I couldn’t skate on that team! So when Women n’ Sync was formed in ’06, I jumped at the chance!
FAVORITE SKATERS: Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Kurt Browning.
FAVORITE SKATING MEMORY: 2011 Sectionals at Lake Placid.
First, our skate qualified us for the championship round, and then I had a great skate for the final round! After a challenging season, I had finally tapped into the essence of “Italian style” (bump-its and all!…“Guido! Guido! Guido!”).
A beautiful snowstorm blanketed everything that evening and my teammates and I shared a joyous celebration!
CURRENT SKATING GOALS: Strengthen my technique to support my passion so I SKATE rather then just execute skating steps on the ice.
